CBC News

Even as the domestic stock market plummets amid escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran, Hyundai Pharmaceutical is drawing market attention with double-digit gains.

According to the Korea Exchange, a static Volatility Interruption (VI) was triggered for Hyundai Pharmaceutical at 11:03:02 a.m. on the 24th and lifted at 11:05:15 a.m. Even after the VI was triggered, strong buying pressure continued to flow in, and as of 11:28 a.m., the stock was trading at 7,120 won, up 820 won (13.02%) from the previous trading day, extending its sharp upward trend.

Around the same time, investor sentiment in the domestic market was significantly dampened. The KOSPI fell by 308.50 points (4.34%) to 6,788.39, and the KOSDAQ dropped by 30.83 points (3.90%) to 759.45, with both major indices plunging in tandem. The surge in international oil prices and the expansion of volatility in global stock markets are currently cited as the main factors weighing on investor sentiment.

Amid the broad market decline, market attention is focused on whether Hyundai Pharmaceutical will be able to maintain its strength through the closing price.
