On the 24th, SK Ocean Plant (100090) surged during the session, triggering a Volatility Control Mechanism (VI).

According to the Korea Exchange, a static VI was triggered for SK Ocean Plant at 10:04:21 a.m. that day and was lifted at 10:06:22 a.m.

As of 10:12 a.m., SK Ocean Plant is trading at 18,750 won, up 1,490 won (8.63%) from the previous trading day. The stock rapidly expanded its gains from the opening of the session, drawing investor attention, and the VI was triggered as price volatility increased over a short period.

On this day, both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ in the domestic stock market are weak due to the impact of escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran. Nevertheless, SK Ocean Plant continues its strong upward trend, defying the broader market direction. In the market, there is a growing sentiment of paying attention to changes in supply and demand for individual stocks even amid the decline of both major indices.

However, as there is a possibility that volatility may expand following the short-term surge, attention is focused on changes in intraday supply and demand and trading volume.
