KBS 2TV's new daily drama 'Trap of Desire' is set to premiere on August 10 at 7:50 PM, following the conclusion of 'Red Pearl.' This revenge drama depicts a woman whose life is turned upside down after being falsely accused of murder, as she fights against immense desire to reclaim her destiny. The series is directed by Lee Dae-kyung and Jung Kwang-soo, written by Gu Ji-won, and produced by Studio Bom and Monster Union.

Amid growing anticipation, actress Jang Seo-hee has been cast in the lead role of Joo Mi-ran, drawing significant attention. Jang portrays a character who steals others' lives out of desire, marking her first attempt at an ultimate villain role. Having predominantly played characters who clear their names and seek justice, Jang is set to showcase an entirely different side in this production.

Regarding her new role, Jang said, "I've mostly played characters who unravel injustices and punish wrongdoers, but this time I've taken on an ultimate villain role for the first time," adding, "What appealed to me most was that this character allows me to show a different side of myself as an actress." She went on to explain that Joo Mi-ran is not a simple villain but a multi-dimensional character whose motivations and emotions behind her desires are vividly portrayed. She noted that she has found great joy in the acting process and is approaching the shoot with passion.

Jang emphasized, "I believe an actor must understand and love the character to express genuine emotions," and said she is fully immersing herself in Joo Mi-ran's feelings. She also expressed her hope that viewers will experience a wide range of emotions through the character. In particular, she stated, "I want to hear people say, 'You can trust Jang Seo-hee's acting," noting that acting is the most important part of being an actress and that such praise is the highest compliment.

She described 'Trap of Desire' as "a work that ultimately depicts karma through the twisted desires of one woman," and said, "It powerfully shows the impact one person's desires have on the lives of many and the consequences of those choices."
