On the 24th, domestic nuclear power-related stocks closed with mixed movements across individual names. Even as the broader domestic market plunged amid escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran, some nuclear power stocks maintained their upward trends, showing differentiated performance.

Looking at major stocks based on the day's close, KEPCO E&C rose 4.26% from the previous trading day to 100,200 won, holding the 100,000-won level. KEPCO KPS also showed strength at 47,450 won (+2.15%). Sosan Industry (22,200 won, +2.06%) and Geumhwa PSC (32,500 won, +1.72%) also closed higher, maintaining relatively steady trends.

On the other hand, Doosan Enerbility fell 1.22% to 72,300 won, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) recorded a slight decline at 35,500 won (-0.28%). Woory Technology plummeted 7.90% to 10,020 won, marking the largest drop. However, its closing price barely stayed above the 10,000-won psychological support line. In addition, Woojin (-3.39%), Orbitech (-4.72%), and Woojin Entech (-3.63%) also recorded losses.

On this day, the domestic market underwent a sharp correction as risk-off sentiment strengthened due to the expansion of geopolitical risks in the Middle East. Surging international oil prices and increased volatility in global financial markets dampened investor sentiment, leading to sharp declines in both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ.

Market assessments indicate that while nuclear power stocks were affected by the short-term index plunge, differentiation among individual stocks continued. Stocks related to nuclear power equipment and maintenance relatively held up well, whereas profit-taking selling pressure was concentrated in some small- and mid-cap nuclear power theme stocks.

Investors' attention is shifting to new focal points. Whether Doosan Enerbility can stabilize in the 70,000-won range, whether KEPCO E&C can maintain the 100,000-won level, and whether Woory Technology can defend the 10,000-won level are cited as variables that will determine short-term investor sentiment. With global geopolitical factors, international oil price trends, and changes in foreign investor net buying all intertwined, attention is expected to focus on the direction of nuclear power stocks on the next trading day.
