Shares of Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) continue to face downward pressure as the stock price has sharply declined to the 1.3 million won level. With the weakness in the regular session spilling over into the after-hours market (NXT), whether the stock can defend its support level in the next trading session has emerged as the key focus for investors.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 24th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics closed the regular session at 1,326,000 won, down 122,000 won (8.43%) from the previous trading day. The downward trend continued in the post-market NXT session, ending trading at 1,347,000 won as of 8 p.m.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has undergone a sharp correction amid expanding volatility in the domestic stock market recently. Having breached the 2 million won mark earlier this month, the stock price has been pushed down to the 1.3 million won range in a short period. The market views the formation of a short-term support level going forward as a key variable that will determine the stock's direction.

Overnight, U.S. stock markets were mixed. On the 24th (local time), the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 235.60 points (0.46%) from the previous trading day to close at 51,947.25, while the S&P 500 also gained 0.05% to finish slightly higher. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.64%, reflecting somewhat diminished investor sentiment toward technology stocks.

The market is also paying attention to the possibility of easing tensions in the Middle East. International oil prices plummeted following reports that Pakistan, with China's support, has stepped in to mediate negotiations between the United States and Iran. September Brent crude oil futures fell 3.88% to $89.31 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery also closed down 3.12% at $89.31 per barrel.

Investors are closely watching the trend in U.S. technology stocks, sentiment toward global risk assets, and changes in foreign investor trading patterns. In particular, given the continued weakness in the post-market NXT session, whether Samsung Electro-Mechanics will defend the 1.3 million won level or find a catalyst for a rebound in the next trading session has become the market's central focus.
