[Breaking] Hyundai Him's VI Triggered, Stock Surges 14%... KOSPI and KOSDAQ Plunge Amid Individual Strength
CBC News

At 9:24:05 a.m. on the 28th, a static Volatility Interruption (VI) was triggered for Hyundai Him (460930). Buy orders poured in from the start of trading, breaking above the 16,000-won level, and the price fluctuation widened in a short period, triggering the VI. At the time of activation, the stock price was 16,030 won, up 1,990 won (14.17%) from the previous trading day.

VI is a system that implements single-price trading for a certain period to control excessive volatility when the price of an individual stock fluctuates sharply beyond a certain range.

However, the overall domestic stock market is under strong downward pressure on this day. At the same time, the KOSPI recorded 6,260.18, down 495.57 points (7.33%) from the previous trading day, and the KOSDAQ fell 38.65 points (5.05%) to 726.21, significantly shrinking investor sentiment.

Despite the simultaneous plunge of both major indices, some stocks, including Hyundai Him, continued their upward trend supported by individual catalysts and supply-demand dynamics, showing a different pattern from the broader market weakness.

However, experts note that volatility may expand during the surge, making it necessary to comprehensively review the stock's price trajectory, trading volume changes, and supply-demand trends after the VI is lifted.
