HD Hyundai Electric (267260) showed a sharp decline early in the trading session on the 29th, triggering Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanisms in succession.

According to the Korea Exchange, a dynamic VI was first triggered at 9:00:30 AM (NXT), followed by additional triggers at 9:02:30 AM (KRX) and 9:02:33 AM (NXT). Subsequently, a static VI was triggered at 9:34:28 AM, expanding volatility before being lifted at 9:36:43 AM.

As of 9:48 AM on the same day, HD Hyundai Electric's stock price was trading at 605,000 won, down 100,000 won (14.18%) from the previous trading day, indicating a strong bearish trend.

Around the same time, the domestic stock market showed mixed movements. The KOSPI continued its upward trend, gaining 88.39 points (1.46%) to reach 6,112.05 compared to the previous trading day, while the KOSDAQ fell 6 points (0.85%) to 699.85.

Market analysts noted that with volatility expanding early in the session, stock price movements are diverging significantly depending on supply and demand for individual stocks, emphasizing the need to closely monitor earnings, industry conditions, and changes in investor sentiment.

Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Electric announced its preliminary earnings for the second quarter based on consolidated financial statements on the 28th. The company recorded revenue of 1.1418 trillion won and operating profit of 287 billion won for the quarter.
