Ecopro Materials Plunges 8%... Group Stocks Weaken Together, Secondary Battery Investment Sentiment Hits 'Cold Spell'
CBC News

Warning lights flashed across Ecopro group stocks all at once. As selling pressure spread throughout the secondary battery sector, stocks within the group recorded sharp declines.

As of 12:09 p.m. on the 29th, Ecopro Materials was trading at 29,000 won, down 2,550 won (8.08%) from the previous trading day, marking the steepest decline within the group. Ecopro BM fell by 8,000 won (7.86%) to 93,800 won, while Ecopro dropped 5,300 won (7.29%) to 67,400 won. Ecopro HN also slipped 1,550 won (6.81%) to 21,200 won.

The broad-based weakness on this day is interpreted as the result of selling pressure spilling over into growth stocks at a time when both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ are undergoing simultaneous corrections. In particular, concerns over a slowdown in AI investment combined with foreign selling attacks expanded market volatility, and the secondary battery sector also showed it was not immune to shrinking investment sentiment.

Going forward, the market trend is expected to be influenced by the outcome of the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, the recovery of investor sentiment in global stock markets, and developments in the secondary battery industry outlook.
