On the 29th, the domestic stock market showed a sharp decline due to a sudden contraction in investor sentiment. While NAVER (035420) also fell more than 4%, it managed to hold the 200,000 won level, a key psychological support line.
According to the Korea Exchange, NAVER closed the regular trading session at 201,500 won, down 8,500 won (4.05%) from the previous trading day. Although the decline deepened during the session, showing strong bearish momentum, the closing price maintained the 200,000 won level, successfully defending against further losses.
On this day, selling pressure spread centered around semiconductor stocks, and large-cap stocks with top market capitalizations uniformly failed to escape the bearish trend. The strong risk-off sentiment across the overall market also translated into downward pressure on NAVER.
Both major domestic indices slumped. The KOSPI plunged by 360.42 points (5.98%) from the previous trading day to record 5,663.24, and the KOSDAQ also closed trading at 662.68, down 43.17 points (6.11%).
Going forward, the direction of the stock market, including NAVER, is expected to be influenced by U.S. market trends, global tech stock movements, and changes in supply and demand. In particular, investors are focusing their attention on whether NAVER can build on its defense of the 200,000 won level and find a catalyst for a rebound.
