Actress Park Eun-bin stars as a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts in 'Spooky Romance,' facing unpredictable changes in her life.

In the tvN Saturday-Sunday drama 'Spooky Romance,' Park Eun-bin plays Cheon Ye-ri, the heiress of Raena Group, a hotel and resort company. Cheon Ye-ri had enjoyed a life of privilege, but after an unexpected yacht accident, she began seeing ghosts and was confronted with a daily life completely different from before.

Her friend Kang Ji-hwan, who was with Cheon Ye-ri at the time of the accident, lost his life, while Cheon Ye-ri barely survived. Afterward, she started seeing various spirits, including her deceased friend, and the phenomenon extended to anyone who came into physical contact with Cheon Ye-ri also being able to see ghosts.

As the people around her cast judgment and misunderstandings mounted, Cheon Ye-ri chose to cut off contact with others and live in isolation to avoid causing them harm. She even received a shamanic ritual, or 'gut,' organized by her grandmother Baek Kyung-ja, but the situation did not improve. Cheon Ye-ri continued her isolated life, earning the nickname 'the hidden princess.'

A Prosecutor Who Sees Ghosts: The Change Brought by Meeting Yang Se-jong

The turning point began when prosecutor Ma Kang-ok appeared before Cheon Ye-ri. While Cheon Ye-ri was resolving grievances from ghosts on her own, she repeatedly crossed paths with Ma Kang-ok, who was investigating a case. When their bare hands accidentally touched, Ma Kang-ok also began to see ghosts.

To the confused Ma Kang-ok, who was overwhelmed by the sudden situation, Cheon Ye-ri began teaching him how to deal with ghosts and sharing the know-how she had acquired. Cheon Ye-ri, who had kept her distance from others, started checking on Ma Kang-ok's condition regularly and even opening up about her inner thoughts, making the evolution of their relationship a central theme of the drama.

However, in the latter part of episode 4, the situation Cheon Ye-ri had feared became a reality. Ma Kang-ok was involved in an accident while trying to save Cheon Ye-ri, who had been kidnapped by Park Seung-jae, plunging Cheon Ye-ri into deep despair once again. With her growing fear that those close to her might face misfortune, attention is focused on whether Cheon Ye-ri will close her heart once more.

New Personal Best in Ratings, Sweeping 1st Place on Both Tving and Netflix

Viewers' enthusiasm for the series is also running hot. According to the production team, the viewership ratings for episode 4 approximately doubled compared to the first episode, setting a new personal best. It also ranked first in its time slot across cable and general programming channels for four consecutive episodes.

In the TV drama buzzworthiness ranking announced by Good Data Corporation's Fundex on the 28th, the show rose to second place for two consecutive weeks. In the cast buzzworthiness ranking, Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong both entered the top 10.

Additionally, as of the 28th, the drama simultaneously ranked first on both Tving and Netflix in South Korea. It also climbed three spots from the previous week to rank fifth in Netflix's Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows.

Meanwhile, Park Eun-bin is maintaining a mid-to-upper ranking in the Best Actress competition at the July Netizens Awards. As of 2:41 p.m. on the 30th, Park Eun-bin is ranked sixth for the Best Actress award with 1,664 votes.
