Samsung Electronics will invest 495 billion won to discover and expand investments in promising domestic and international semiconductor startups.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th through a regulatory filing that it has decided to contribute 495 billion won in cash to a new technology business investment fund (SVIC No. 82) being established by its affiliated entity, 'Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.' The board of directors approved the agenda on the same day.

This investment will be made through the formation of a fund totaling 500 billion won. Samsung Electronics and Samsung Venture Investment will contribute 495 billion won and 5 billion won, respectively. The primary purpose of the investment is to create technological and business synergies through equity investments in domestic and international semiconductor startups.

The specific date of the investment has not yet been determined. The company plans to join the fund by August 2026. The investment funds will be contributed on a flexible basis whenever actual investment cases arise during the fund's 13-year duration, and the future fund joining date and duration may change depending on circumstances.
