Dai Dai, the official theme song of the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup, a collaboration between Shakira and Burna Boy, has recorded 17th place on the U.S. Billboard main singles chart, the Hot 100, achieving the highest performance among all World Cup songs in history.

With this achievement, Shakira has become the only artist to place two World Cup official theme songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40. Previously, Shakira reached No. 38 with the 2010 South Africa World Cup official theme song, Waka Waka.

These records are attributed to a surge in U.S. music sales and streaming of Dai Dai following the World Cup final halftime show held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. According to Luminate data, official music streaming in the U.S. from July 17 to 23 reached 8.6 million, a 69% increase compared to the previous week. During the same period, radio listenership rose by 11% to 13.9 million, while digital music sales skyrocketed by 322% from the previous week, surpassing 7,000 units.

A total of four official World Cup theme songs have ever charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Along with this year's Dai Dai (No. 17) and Waka Waka (No. 38), Ricky Martin's The Cup of Life (No. 45) and Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Claudia Leitte's We Are One (No. 59) also made the list.

Meanwhile, Shakira is also making a positive impact. She is donating all of her personal music royalty earnings from Dai Dai to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, operated by FIFA and Global Citizen. In addition, she is contributing an additional $1 per ticket sold for her world tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, to efforts aimed at improving educational and sports access for underprivileged children.

After successfully completing her U.S. arena shows in late July, Shakira is scheduled to hold 12 European stadium residency concerts at Estadio Shakira in Madrid, Spain, in September and October.
