CBC News

On the 31st, as the KOSPI and KOSDAQ surged simultaneously in the domestic stock market, nuclear power-related stocks, including Doosan Enerbility, are showing strength across the board.

As of 9:33 a.m. on this day, Doosan Enerbility, a leading nuclear power stock, is trading at 66,200 won, up 9.96% from the previous trading day, leading the upward trend. Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is up 3.78% at 34,300 won, while Korea Power Engineering is recording 86,800 won, up 8.63%.

In particular, Woory Technology is soaring 14.34%, showing the highest gain among nuclear power-related stocks. In addition, other major nuclear power stocks such as Woojin (9.19%), Orbitech (9.91%), Soosan Industries (3.70%), KEPCO KPS (2.30%), and Keumhwa PSC (1.95%) are continuing their overall upward trend.

The background behind this collective rise in nuclear power stocks lies in the explosive buying pressure across the domestic stock market. Driven by a massive inflow of buying centered on semiconductor stocks, both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ are surging side by side, significantly improving investor sentiment. In the early session, program buying surged rapidly, triggering buy sidecars in both the securities market and the KOSDAQ market.

As of 9:33 a.m., the KOSPI is recording above the 6,424 level, having risen more than 14%, and the KOSDAQ is also soaring over 7%. With the continued ultra-strong performance of both major indices, market attention is focused on whether the upward trend in nuclear power stocks will persist. However, some point out that intraday volatility may expand, making it necessary to avoid hasty predictions and investments.
