[Breaking] Samsung Electro-Mechanics Surges in Early Trading, Triggering VI Multiple Times... Soars to 1,135,000 KRW

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is showing a sharp upward trend on the 31st, driven by strong buying interest in early trading. The stock price has surged so rapidly that the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism has been triggered repeatedly, indicating high volatility.

As of 9:05 a.m., Samsung Electro-Mechanics was trading at 1,135,000 KRW on the NXT market, up 256,000 KRW (29.12%) from the previous trading day. After swiftly recovering the 1,000,000 KRW level during the session, the stock continued to widen its gains, drawing significant attention from investors.

Due to the rapid price movement, VI was triggered consecutively, temporarily switching trading to a single-price auction method. On this day, VI was triggered twice in the pre-market NXT session and twice on the KRX, reflecting a significant expansion in volatility.

There is a background to this movement. Overnight, the U.S. New York stock market closed higher, buoyed by strong earnings from Microsoft and Meta as well as a rally in the semiconductor sector. Accordingly, investor sentiment in the domestic stock market has improved, centering on major semiconductor and AI-related stocks, leading to strong inflows of buying interest into Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

The market is closely watching whether Samsung Electro-Mechanics can sustain its additional upward momentum after recovering the 1,000,000 KRW level in a short period, and whether the bullish trend will spread to major semiconductor stocks overall, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
