Hammerstorm Match: Song A's Explosive Hitting and Closer Kim On-a

In their second head-to-head clash with Hammerstorm, the Black Queens held a narrow 9-6 lead through the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Shin So-jung scored after a hit by Kim On-a, and Park Ha-yan recorded another hit, putting runners in scoring position. However, Ayaka's ball was caught by the defense, ending the inning.

Song A, who took the mound in the top of the fifth, faced a one-out, runner-on-third situation against the opponent's double play attempt, but Kim On-a and Park Ha-yan handled infield grounders well to close the inning without allowing a run.

The counterattack continued in the bottom of the fifth. Joo Soo-jin reached base on a hit-by-pitch, and Lee Soo-yeon hit a double, creating a scoring opportunity with runners on second and third and no outs. Song A then blasted a three-run homer to widen the gap. Shin So-jung, Choi Hye-bin, and Kim On-a recorded consecutive hits, and Park Ha-yan drew a bases-loaded walk to push a runner home, adding more runs.

Hammerstorm closed the gap on an error in the top of the sixth, but Kim On-a, who came in as the closing pitcher, ended the game with a three-pitch strikeout.

Song A recorded 2 hits, 2 home runs, and 6 RBIs in 4 at-bats, while also pitching 2.1 innings, earning the MVP honors for the day. After the game, Manager Choo Shin-soo remarked, "I feel like I aged three years today."

Big Sighting Match: New Lineup and Defensive Plays Shine

In their third game against Big Sighting, the Black Queens experimented with a new battery combination and lineup changes. Park Min-seo was unable to participate due to muscle strain.

In the top of the first inning, catcher Choi Hye-bin dropped a third strike, resulting in a dropped third strike situation, but Kim Sung-yeon caught the ball and recorded the additional out. A 6-4-3 double play attempt failed, but Park Ha-yan dove to make a spectacular catch, ending the inning. Park Ha-yan said, "I just had the mindset that I had to catch it no matter what."

In the bottom of the first, Lee Soo-yeon sprinted at full speed and was called safe after an infield grounder, and during Song A's at-bat, Manager Choo Shin-soo called for a play that sent Lee Soo-yeon racing home to score the opening run. In the top of the second, Kim On-a recorded a three-pitch strikeout, and Kim Sung-yeon's steady defense induced a three-up, three-down inning.

Kim Sung-yeon shared her thoughts, saying, "As a third baseman, I earned my keep. It was the happiest moment I've had while doing 'Baseball Queen.'"

Meanwhile, 'Baseball Queen 2' ranked third in TV non-drama buzz and fifth in TV-OTT non-drama buzz on the Fundex chart for the fourth week of July, released by Good Data Corporation. Buzz increased by 26.09% compared to the previous week, setting a new personal best for three consecutive weeks. It ranked fourth in TV-OTT non-drama search response, while Park Min-seo ranked second in the cast member buzz category. The show also took first place in both the over-50s demographic and male viewer interest categories.

The game result between the Black Queens and Big Sighting will be revealed on Channel A's 'Baseball Queen 2' Episode 5, airing at 10 p.m. on August 6.
