KBS 2TV's weekend miniseries 'The Art of Marriage' is keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, teasing a suffocating hospital room confrontation between Namgoong Min and Lee Sang-hee.
In the upcoming episode 9, Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgoong Min) personally visits Kim Kyung-ae (played by Lee Sang-hee), who has regained consciousness after surgery. The scene captures attention as Kang relentlessly questions Kim to uncover the truth behind the kidnapping incident, while Kim faces him with anxious eyes. In particular, a single remark from Kang sends Kim into shock, and the tense psychological battle between the two characters maximizes the suspense of the crime thriller.
In the previous episode 8, Kang Tae-joo thwarted Ha Jung-soo's (played by Jun Kwang-jin) attempt to kill using potassium chloride, ultimately saving Kim Kyung-ae's life. Shortly after, Ha Jung-soo was discovered as a cold corpse, amplifying viewers' curiosity about the case. 'The Art of Marriage' has been receiving positive reviews for the outstanding performances of its cast, including Namgoong Min, Kim Myung-soo, Lee Seol, and Lee Sang-hee, as well as its tightly woven storyline. Notably, episode 8 recorded a peak per-minute rating of 9.2% and a nationwide rating of 7.5% according to Nielsen Korea, renewing its own highest ratings and demonstrating the power to claim first place in viewership among dramas in the same time slot.
Regarding episode 9, the production team stated, "It is a crucial scene where Kim Kyung-ae, who woke up after surgery, and Kang Tae-joo, who is determined to uncover the truth, face each other for the first time," adding, "Please pay attention to the actions of the two characters, who now stand in completely opposite positions from the time of the kidnapping." They continued, "Namgoong Min and Lee Sang-hee poured their hearts not only into their lines but also into their breathing and gazes, thoroughly preparing to create the best possible scene," and added, "The confrontation between the two actors will properly showcase the tension of a crime thriller," heightening anticipation.
