In the morning trading session on the 3rd, Peptron's (087010) stock price surged, triggering the Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanism.

According to the Korea Exchange, a static VI was triggered for Peptron at 9:55:43 a.m. that day, followed by its release at 9:58:08 a.m. The stock has continued its upward trend since then, trading at 142,200 won as of 10:08 a.m., up 16,400 won (12.83%) from the previous trading day. It recovered the 140,000-won mark during the session, showing strong inflows of buying interest. Earlier, Peptron had also closed higher on July 31, the last trading day of July.

At the same time, the broader domestic stock market is showing a clear divergence. The KOSDAQ index is up 2.53% from the previous trading day at 738.00, indicating improving investor sentiment. Meanwhile, the KOSPI has fallen more than 3%, unfolding a market dynamic characterized by stock-level differentiation.

Experts advise that stocks for which a VI has been triggered indicate expanded short-term volatility, necessitating a cautious approach.
