On the morning of the 3rd, strong buying pressure poured into Wonik Holdings (030530), causing its stock price to surge. As a result, the Volatility Control Mechanism (VI), designed to curb short-term volatility, was activated twice, drawing keen market attention.

According to the Korea Exchange, Wonik Holdings saw its first static VI triggered at 9:21:10 a.m. that morning, which was lifted at 9:23:14 a.m. As the upward trend continued, a second static VI was additionally triggered at 10:16:17 a.m. and released at 10:18:36 a.m.

The stock price has maintained its gains since then. As of 10:21 a.m., it is trading at 19,090 won, up 3,810 won (24.93%) from the previous trading day. Recovering the 19,000-won mark during the session, the stock has drawn investors' interest, showing strong momentum accompanied by heavy trading volume even amid significantly expanded volatility that led to two VI activations.

Around the same time, the KOSDAQ index, which includes Wonik Holdings, also exhibited a strong trend at the 740 level. Meanwhile, the KOSPI index is recording the 6,309 level, down 4.33%.
