In the early innings, the Black Queens held a narrow 1-0 lead through the top of the second. Left fielder Lee Su-yeon got on base and showcased aggressive baserunning to put the first run on the board, getting off to a strong start. However, during their at-bat in the bottom of the second, they struggled to get on base and advance against Big Sighting's solid defense. The situation worsened as starting pitcher Kim On-a experienced control issues, prompting a crisis. To prevent further runs, head coach Choo Shin-soo, along with coaches Lee Dae-hyung and Yoon Suk-min, brought in Jang Su-young as a relief pitcher.

Jang Su-young was previously pulled in the top of the second inning during the season's second game against Hammerstone after issuing consecutive walks. For this appearance, she composed herself and returned to the mound determined to overcome her slump. Pitching coach Yoon Suk-min encouraged her, saying, "Do everything you can, with confidence!"
