Sapien Semiconductor announced in a regulatory filing on the 4th that it has signed a joint development and supply agreement for display driver chips (DDI) with a North American Big Tech company.

The contract amount is 7,216,133,340 KRW. This is equivalent to approximately 42% of the company's revenue of 17,312,155,993 KRW in the most recent fiscal year (2025).

The counterparty is a North American Big Tech company, and the disclosure of the company name has been withheld at the client's request. The withholding period for disclosure expires on October 28, 2027. The company has an existing business relationship with Sapien Semiconductor and has been confirmed to have a track record of fulfilling similar contracts over the past three years.

■ Supply Region, Period, and Method

The supply region is the Americas. The contract period runs from July 21, 2026 to October 28, 2027, and will be carried out through a combination of in-house production and outsourced manufacturing.

■ Exchange Rate Application and Contract Schedule

The company stated that the fixed contract amount is 5,046,600 USD. For conversion into Korean won, the initial base exchange rate (1 USD = 1,429.90 KRW) quoted by the Seoul Foreign Exchange Brokerage on the contract execution date of August 4, 2026, was applied.

July 21, 2026, the start date of the contract period, is the kick-off date specified in the agreement. After finalizing the development specifications on that day, the final contract was signed on August 4 following the counterparty's contract review process.

The contract end date is based on the scheduled payment receipt date after product delivery and may be changed by mutual agreement between the two companies.
