According to the preliminary consolidated results for the second quarter of this year, disclosed by DB HiTek on the 5th, the company recorded remarkable growth compared to the same period last year.

The trend of earnings improvement was also evident compared to the previous quarter (Q1). Q2 revenue increased by 15.25%, while operating profit grew by 57.28%, profit before income tax from continuing operations by 78.96%, and net income by 33.08%.

On a cumulative basis for the first half of this year (January–June), the company achieved revenue of KRW 774.05 billion (up 21.94% year-on-year) and an operating profit of KRW 172.142 billion (up 36.25% year-on-year). Cumulative net income reached KRW 202.476 billion, a 91.20% increase, while net income attributable to owners of the parent company stood at KRW 195.288 billion, up 84.84%.

[Basis of Results Preparation and Notable Matters] The company stated that these results are preliminary consolidated figures prepared in accordance with the Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) and may be subject to change during the finalization process, as they have not yet been reviewed by an external auditor.

Additionally, the results reflect the temporary suspension of the ferroalloy business segment of its subsidiary DB World, which was halted on May 29. Accordingly, revenue, operating profit, and profit before income tax from continuing operations were prepared on a continuing operations basis, excluding profit or loss from discontinued operations. Net income and net income attributable to owners of the parent company include profit or loss from discontinued operations.
