Despite recording strong Q2 2026 earnings that exceeded market expectations, SanDisk is showing weakness in after-hours trading due to market disappointment over its future earnings outlook.

According to the earnings report released on the 6th, SanDisk's Q2 earnings per share (EPS) came in at $39.25. This is a 'surprise figure,' surging more than 13,000% from $0.29 in the same period last year. Revenue also increased significantly. Q2 revenue stood at $8.9 billion, up 371.6% from $1.9 billion in the same period last year. This strong performance is interpreted as the result of a major expansion in memory demand, centered on AI data centers.

However, the stock price reaction has been somewhat subdued. As of 7:20 a.m. on the 6th Korean time, SanDisk's after-hours stock price stood at $1,275.31, down $75.19 (5.5%) from the regular session closing price of $1,350.50. Following a 5.4% decline during the regular trading session, the bearish trend has continued into after-hours trading.
