Daewoo Construction has gained a favorable position in securing the core EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the Mozambique Rovuma LNG project.

In a regulatory filing on the 6th, Daewoo Construction announced that it has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from ExxonMobil Mozambique Limitada, the representative of the project owner.

This project is a large-scale undertaking to construct an LNG liquefaction plant with an annual capacity of approximately 18.6 million tons. Following the receipt of the LOI, Daewoo Construction plans to carry out proactive tasks including preliminary design, procurement, and constructability reviews ahead of signing the final EPC main contract.

Daewoo Construction's final equity stake will be determined upon the establishment of a joint venture (JV) among the participating companies. The company stated, "This letter of intent is not a final contract, and relevant details will be disclosed again upon the signing of the EPC main contract."

Meanwhile, the date of the LOI receipt is August 5, 2026, and the final confirmation date by the project owner's representative is August 6, 2026.
