At approximately 6:11 p.m. on the 6th, a fire of unknown origin broke out at a textile dyeing factory located in Bongyang-dong, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The fire injured four workers who were inside the factory at the time.

Among them, a woman in her 60s sustained serious injuries from burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to a hospital. The remaining three individuals (men and women in their 60s and 70s) are also receiving treatment for back and ankle pain, abrasions, minor burns, and smoke inhalation symptoms. The six people inside the factory at the time of the accident all managed to evacuate on their own, fortunately preventing any major casualties.

As the fire broke out, the flames quickly spread to large quantities of fabric and chemicals — flammable materials typically stored in such textile factories — causing black smoke to spread rapidly. Fire authorities received 122 related emergency calls and deployed 26 fire engines and 65 personnel to the scene. The responding team brought the main blaze under control within tens of minutes, and cleanup of remaining embers and safety measures have since been completed.

The fire is believed to have caused significant property damage, including the partial destruction of the building and production equipment. Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact extent of the damage and the point of ignition through a joint on-site inspection. In particular, authorities believe the fire started near equipment or production facilities inside the factory and are investigating with various possibilities open, including electrical factors, equipment malfunctions, and negligence during work operations.

A fire authority official stated, "The exact cause of ignition and the extent of damage will be confirmed through the results of the on-site investigation."
