ENA and SBS Plus co-produced variety show 'I am SOLO' Season 33, a lifelong single special, showcased unexpected shifts in attraction during its first broadcast.

This season began in 'Solo Nation No. 33' in Muju, Jeonbuk. The participants each shared their stories of having no dating experience.

Young-soo focused on studying math and foreign languages, putting off dating. Young-ho was devoted to work and had no opportunities to meet women. Young-sik revealed he is a former KATUSA who grew up in the Philippines and works as a racing driver and instructor, but found it hard to approach others and often ate alone during his school days. Young-chul worked to earn his tuition, living expenses, and athletic training fees during college, leaving no time for dating. Gwang-su had no interest in dating for 31 years and was told by a friend he might be asexual. Sang-cheol said he had few opportunities to meet women and felt awkward in front of someone he liked, so it never led to a relationship.

The female participants also introduced their own stories. Young-sook focused on her studies and career, postponing dating, and even her parents do not know she has never been in a relationship. Jung-sook lived abroad for 10 years but has no dating experience and could not express her feelings to men she was interested in. Soon-ja said she dated someone for three months eight years ago but broke up because she did not feel a romantic connection. Young-ja showed confidence, saying she has finished preparing for marriage but has no partner. Ok-soon decided to appear on the show out of a sense of crisis that she might remain single her entire life. Hyun-sook said she had many crushes but could never express her feelings and only suffered in silence.

After all 12 lifelong single men and women gathered, the female participants made their first impression choices. Young-sook chose Young-soo, who helped carry her luggage. Jung-sook chose Sang-cheol, who livened up the mood. Soon-ja chose Young-sik, who carried her suitcase. Young-ja chose Sang-cheol. Ok-soon chose Young-chul, who took out the trash for her. Hyun-sook also chose Sang-cheol. As a result, Sang-cheol became the most popular by first impression with three votes, while Young-ho and Gwang-su received no votes.

After the first impression selections, while heading to the accommodations, Young-ho showed thoughtfulness by loading the women's luggage into his car, and Hyun-sook highly praised his considerate attitude. Upon arrival, Young-sik visited the women's quarters to deliver welcome gifts and bottled water, and Young-sook showed interest and joined him for grocery shopping. Young-chul and Sang-cheol ran into the single women but could not strike up a conversation, while Gwang-su thought the participants who visited the women's quarters were brave. Later, Young-chul and Gwang-su visited the women's quarters and played a liar game to break the ice.

During a gathering of all participants, Young-ho took charge of leading the games, explaining the rules and order while energizing the atmosphere, and both Soon-ja and Young-ja were attracted to his hosting skills. In the grocery shopping vehicle, Young-sik and Hyun-sook talked about movies and foreign dramas, and Hyun-sook found his English pronunciation and tastes charming. Seeing this, Young-sook remarked that the two looked good together and held off on her own choice. Back at the accommodations, Young-soo distributed candy and attentively looked after Young-sook, who was not feeling well.

At dinner, when Young-ho said he wanted to eat bibim noodles, Young-ja made them for him, and Young-ho expressed his gratitude. Soon-ja developed new feelings for Young-ho but could not approach him easily. The preview showed Soon-ja initiating conversation with Young-ho as self-introductions began.

The romance of the Season 33 participants is unfolding in a different direction from the first impression choices. Sang-cheol, who became the most popular by first impression, shared his thoughts, saying, 'This is something I have never experienced in my life.' Meanwhile, Young-ja said seeing Sang-cheol up close felt burdensome, and Young-sook expressed interest in Young-sik, saying he 'seems to think several steps ahead.' Hyun-sook evaluated Young-ho as considerate, heightening anticipation for future developments.
