Inbody's stock price surged on the back of strong second-quarter earnings, triggering a Volatility Intervention (VI) mechanism during the trading session.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 6th, a static VI was triggered for Inbody at 11:15:18 a.m. and lifted at 11:17:27 a.m. The stock continued its strong momentum, trading at 72,200 won as of 11:47 a.m., up 27.34% (15,500 won) from the previous trading day.

The solid Q2 earnings announcement on the same day underpinned the stock price surge. On a consolidated basis, Inbody recorded revenue of 73.254 billion won in the second quarter of this year, up 30.4% year-on-year. Operating profit for the same period rose 70.7% to 17.743 billion won, while profit before income tax from continuing operations surged 137.0% to 21.285 billion won. Net income reached 14.53 billion won, up 96.4% year-on-year, but down 10.8% compared to the previous quarter.

Performance improvement was also evident on a cumulative first-half basis. Cumulative revenue stood at 141.698 billion won, up 26.8% year-on-year, while cumulative operating profit increased 76.9% to 30.768 billion won. Cumulative net income rose 116.5% to 30.828 billion won, reflecting a significant overall improvement in profitability.
