OCI Holdings (010060) is surging on strong buying pressure in early trading, with volatility expanding as Volatility Interruption (VI) mechanisms have been triggered consecutively.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 7th, as of 9:19 a.m., OCI Holdings was trading at 281,500 won, up 37,500 won (15.37%) from the previous trading day, recovering the 280,000 won level.

In the regular trading session today, a static VI was triggered at 9:14:46 a.m. and subsequently lifted at 9:17:15 a.m. Around the market open, dynamic VIs were also triggered on the Nextrade (NXT) platform at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., significantly increasing volatility.

The market attributes the sharp short-term price increase to strong buying pressure that flowed in during early trading. However, some point out that volatility may persist even after the VI is lifted, making it necessary to monitor intraday trading volume and supply and demand changes.

When investing, decisions should be based on a comprehensive consideration of corporate earnings, public disclosures, and industry conditions, rather than solely on short-term price surges. Stocks experiencing rapid price fluctuations may carry heightened investment risks, requiring a cautious approach.
