On the May 7 broadcast of KBS1's 'My Hometown at 6 O'clock,' Miss Kim visited Doyo Village in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, and was shown experiencing the village's signature specialty, 'Doyo Potato.'

Finding the Village's Top Pride... First Clue: 'Four Syllables'

Miss Kim received a mission to find the village's top pride and explored the Doyo Village area based on the first clue, 'four syllables.' She met an elderly photographer who was capturing images of two guardian village trees — a sycamore maple and a pine tree — that have protected the village for generations. She then walked along the 'Doyosae-gil' path overlooking the Nakdonggang River with the head of the senior citizens' association, who carries on the traditions of the Suwon Baek clan village, and spontaneously sang the song 'Maiden Boatman.'

The senior center head remarked, 'The Doyosae-gil path is prettier in spring and fall, but since we never know when "My Hometown at 6 O'clock" will come, we showed it to you now,' adding laughter to the scene.

Farm Stay Experience... Summer Nourishment with Duck Baeksuk

Later, a village broadcast announced, 'Heung-seu Kim, please come to the cool farm stay,' and Miss Kim experienced the farm stay firsthand. The farm stay offers farm lodging, rural experiences, meals, and specialty gifts, earning positive responses from visitors. There, Miss Kim tasted duck baeksuk (whole boiled duck) and enjoyed a summer nourishing meal.

After following various clues, the village's top pride Miss Kim discovered was none other than the Doyo potato. Grown by the majority of Doyo Village residents, the Doyo potato is cultivated in sandy soil and is known for its fluffy texture and outstanding flavor. After tasting it herself, Miss Kim exclaimed, 'Doyo potatoes are killer!' and praised them highly, saying, 'They're fluffy and tender, and the natural sweetness of the potato is just wonderful.'

After tasting potato bread, she joked, 'I love bread so much that even my face has become puffy,' drawing laughter from the villagers. Having experienced the history, natural scenery, warm hospitality, and specialty flavors of Doyo Village, Miss Kim created a lively atmosphere through her interactions with the residents.
