In the second round of the PGA Tour Wyndham Championship, Kim Joo-hyung moved into a tie for 14th place with a midway total of 8-under-par.

Kim reduced his score by three strokes on the day but saw his ranking slip slightly from a tie for 11th after the first round to a tie for 14th. He currently trails the solo leader, Beau Hossler of the United States, by four strokes. Early in the round, Kim showed strong momentum. He recorded four birdies through the 11th hole to chase the leaders. However, he stumbled at the par-3 12th hole. His tee shot landed just off the green, and his next two approach shots came up short, leaving him to reach the green only with his fourth stroke. He ultimately two-putted for a double bogey, marking a disappointing moment. Fortunately, he bounced back with a birdie on the next hole, the par-4 13th, to make up for some of the dropped strokes.

Im Sung-jae also reduced his score by two strokes in the second round, successfully making the cut with a midway total of 5-under-par, tied for 38th. Im strung together five birdies on the day but committed three bogeys, leaving something to be desired in lowering his overall score.

Meanwhile, Beau Hossler of the United States held the solo lead at 12-under-par after the second round of the tournament. Ben James of the United States and Jordan Smith of England were closely trailing Hossler at 11-under-par, while Sahith Theegala of the United States and others formed a group tied for 4th at 9-under-par. World No. 3 Cameron Young of the United States recorded a 3-under-par to barely make the cut.
