It was revealed that trot singer Park Seo-jin has spent tens of millions of won on his hobby of painting minhwa (Korean folk art).

On the episode of KBS 2TV's 'Salimnam Season 2' (hereafter 'Salimnam 2') that aired on the 8th, the daily life of Park Seo-jin was revealed as he devoted himself to his artistic activities with the goal of holding a minhwa exhibition.

The revealed minhwa room was stocked with 6.26 million won worth of supplies, including paper, paints, a tablet PC, a desk, and brushes, alone. The paper alone cost 1 million won, and a single brush cost 800,000 won. It was confirmed that Park Seo-jin had spent between 20 million and 30 million won in total on purchasing hobby supplies.

His younger sister Park Hyo-jung pointed out that when they previously set up a home gym, he spent an amount comparable to the jeonse (key money) for a studio apartment on workout equipment. She said she could not understand his overspending habit of buying things and then forgetting about them only to buy more. Park Hyo-jung also checked Park Seo-jin's delivery app and was dumbfounded to find that he had ordered delivery and even added instant rice to his order despite having instant rice at home. Park Seo-jin explained, 'It was annoying to heat up the instant rice.'

◆ "Delete delivery apps, penalty is a flick to the forehead"... 16,500 won living challenge

Park Hyo-jung proposed a challenge, adapted from the variety show '10,000 Won Happiness,' to live on a daily budget of 16,500 won. The siblings deleted their delivery apps and set a forehead flick as the penalty as they embarked on the challenge.

Park Seo-jin, who had to travel from Incheon to KBS for a schedule, chose a bicycle to save on transportation costs. It was a 38km journey that took over two hours. Park Hyo-jung struggled with the hard saddle and fell while getting off the bike when his pants got caught, drawing blood from his knee. Park Seo-jin purchased a waterproof bandage and offered it to his sibling in exchange for an apple, and Park Hyo-jung applied the bandage to his knee along with snacks such as watermelon brought from home.

Running out of time, the siblings eventually paid the 'Salimnam' production staff 5,000 won to get a ride and arrived at the KBS headquarters.

◆ After rehearsal, a 'love line' even forms in the comedian practice room

After finishing rehearsals, Park Seo-jin tried to get singer Eun Ga-eun to buy him coffee, but since she did not have her credit card, he ended up paying for it himself.

Later, Park Seo-jin visited the KBS comedian practice room to earn money. He drew a caricature of Jo Soo-yeon and received 2,000 won, and also drew pictures for Seo Seong-gyeong and Hwang Hye-sun. At this gathering, Kim Young-hee brought up the fact that Park Seo-jin had previously named Kim Shin-young as his ideal type and requested, 'Draw a heart on the picture of the person who is closer to your ideal type.' Park Seo-jin added a heart to Hwang Hye-sun's caricature.

While the surrounding comedians reacted strongly, Hwang Hye-sun waved her hands and smiled brightly.
