The personal data breach at the economic YouTube channel '3 Pro TV,' which has 3.04 million subscribers, has been confirmed to have affected 460,000 individuals.

The operator, E Broadcasting, announced on the 9th via a website notice that the personal information of 3 Pro TV app members was unauthorizedly leaked due to illegal access by an external actor. The company has reported the incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency.

Upon discovering the incident, the company immediately launched an investigation and individually notified members whose contact information was available. It also blocked malicious access routes and associated IP addresses, and conducted a security assessment through an external security firm.

• The categories of leaked personal information vary by member, and the specific tallies are as follows:
• Address: 2 cases
• Account information (bank name, account number, account holder name): 2,972 cases
• Credit card information (card name, masked card number): 317 cases

In addition, names, profiles, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, records generated during service use, and device information were exposed. However, the company explained that it does not collect unique identifiers or sensitive information such as resident registration numbers, so they were excluded from this incident.

To prevent further damage, E Broadcasting urged caution against secondary damage. In particular, it warned that the leaked account information includes bank names, account numbers, and account holder names, which could be exploited for financial crimes such as voice phishing.

The company asked members to be especially careful of phishing calls, text messages, and emails impersonating or misusing personal information. It added that if they receive contacts from unclear or suspicious sources, they should not click on links or attachments and should immediately delete or report them.
