The film "Assassin(s)," arriving in theaters this Chuseok, seeks out audiences as a mystery thriller that uncovers the suspicions and forces behind the First Lady sniper incident that sent shockwaves through South Korea on August 15, 1974. Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho star, with director Heo Jin-ho at the helm.

At the film's production briefing held on the 10th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the lead cast and director were in attendance to share their various impressions of the project. At the event, director Heo Jin-ho stated, "Since this film is based on actual events, I strove to maintain a balanced perspective without leaning toward any one side during the research process." He went on to explain that he intended a fast-paced development that captures the genre characteristics of a mystery thriller.

In this film, Park Hae-il plays the role of a veteran reporter working as the head of the society desk at a newspaper in the 1970s. He expressed deep gratitude about reuniting with director Heo Jin-ho for the first time in ten years since the film "Princess Deokhye." Park Hae-il showed confidence, saying, "Because it is based on actual events, it will serve as an opportunity to newly encounter modern history," and added, "It is not a documentary, but rather contains fast-paced development and the trademark meticulous composition unique to director Heo Jin-ho."

Furthermore, he added, "With many Korean films opening during the Chuseok season, I am looking forward to audiences enjoying various works like a rich feast," and stated, "I hope this film remains a work that can inform audiences about a facet of modern history."
