Hanmi Semiconductor (042700) is establishing a local subsidiary in the United States. The move is aimed at proactively responding to the increase in local equipment demand driven by the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor market and at strengthening customer support capabilities.

On the 10th, Hanmi Semiconductor announced through a voluntary disclosure on other management matters that it will establish a U.S. subsidiary named 'HANMI USA, Inc.' with a capital of USD 1.5 million (approximately KRW 2.1 billion). Hanmi Semiconductor's investment stake is 100%. The newly established subsidiary will conduct business operations including the development and sale of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, as well as related components and materials.

The company analyzed that the expansion of the AI semiconductor markets, namely HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and AI packaging, is driving increased investment in semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States, consequently boosting equipment demand. In line with this, the company's strategy is to establish a local subsidiary to build a rapid technical support system.

Meanwhile, the decision to establish this local subsidiary was finalized through a board resolution on the 10th, and the actual investment is scheduled to take place on the 18th.
