The Korean Confederation to Eliminate Discrimination Against Disabled People (Jeonjangyeon) is continuing its subway boarding protests during morning commute hours, demanding a complete overhaul of the 'Act on Guaranteeing Mobility Rights for Transportation Vulnerable Groups.'

Due to the protests that began at 8 a.m. today on the platforms of Hyehwa Station and Yongsan Station, trains passing through the upbound track (toward Seoul Station and Cheongnyangni Station) at Yongsan Station on Seoul Subway Line 1 passed without stopping starting from 8:10 a.m.

Seoul Metro sent out a safety alert notifying citizens that upbound trains at Yongsan Station were operating without stopping due to the impact of the assembly and protest, alerting citizens to the disruption.

Jeonjangyeon has been conducting protests using public transportation such as buses and subways. In the process, inconvenience to commuting citizens was unavoidable, and in particular, passengers who intended to use Yongsan Station on this day experienced inconvenience as they were unable to board trains that did not stop.

Through repeated protests, Jeonjangyeon has been continuously emphasizing the need for legislation to guarantee the mobility rights of the transportation vulnerable.
