The South Korean men's volleyball team will play a friendly match to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Bahrain. The Korea Volleyball Association announced on the 10th that it will host the "2026 Korea-Bahrain 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Commemorative South Korean Men's National Volleyball Team Friendly Match" from the 29th to the 30th at the Yoo Gwan-soon Gymnasium in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

The event was organized with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. It holds great significance in simultaneously fulfilling the diplomatic purpose of promoting friendly cooperation between the two nations and the practical goal of strengthening the national team's competitiveness.

In particular, with the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championship, where a berth for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics is at stake, and the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which draw high public interest, on the horizon, the matches are drawing attention as an opportunity for the national team to accumulate practical game experience.

South Korea plans to assess its capabilities by facing Bahrain, a formidable Middle Eastern opponent, twice over two consecutive days. Both matches will be broadcast live on KBS N SPORTS.

The Korea Volleyball Association emphasized that this match is an important stage that can further elevate the national team's performance, and stated its commitment to doing its utmost to ensure the team gains practical experience ahead of major international competitions.
