As the digitalization of train tickets accelerates, Samsung Electronics has partnered with Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) to officially launch a 'paperless ticket' service within Samsung Wallet starting on the 10th.

The service is expected to reduce the issuance of physical tickets, helping to cut social costs associated with the production and disposal of paper tickets while contributing to environmental protection. In particular, it is evaluated as the first case in Korea to support mobile boarding passes, significantly enhancing user convenience.

How to Issue and Use Mobile Tickets When customers who have agreed in advance purchase tickets at an offline Korail station counter using Samsung Wallet, the mobile ticket is automatically registered in the wallet. In addition, tickets issued through the integrated 'Korail+' application can be easily added via the 'Add to Wallet' function. Ticket return (refund) functionality is also supported directly within the wallet.

SRT and Future Operating Schedules For SRT tickets, the name will be changed to 'KTX-Sancheon' on September 1 as part of the high-speed rail integration, and tickets for September operations will be available to add to Samsung Wallet.

Smart Journey Management Through Galaxy Integration Once a mobile ticket is registered in Samsung Wallet, it syncs with the 'Calendar' and 'Now Brief' features on Galaxy devices. This allows users to receive notifications before boarding and systematically manage various supplementary features, from boarding time guidance to travel itineraries.

Chae Won-cheol, Vice President and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics' MX Division, said regarding the collaboration, 'We have successfully implemented a paperless ticket service in partnership with Korail,' adding, 'We will actively lead the realization of eco-friendly values and the spread of a paperless lifestyle while adding innovative convenience to our customers' daily lives.'
