A joint crackdown operation involving the Coast Guard, the Navy, and an Ongjin County fisheries guidance vessel has been underway since the afternoon of the 11th. This joint operation is scheduled to continue through the 12th. A total of eight Chinese fishing vessels were caught during that day's enforcement, identified as five manned vessels with crew on board and three unmanned vessels.
The Coast Guard and other relevant authorities are currently escorting the seized Chinese fishing vessels to waters near Yeonpyeongdo, while enforcement continues on-site against additional vessels engaged in illegal fishing. A Coast Guard official stated, "It is difficult to disclose specific details as the operation is currently underway," and added, "We plan to release detailed information, including the circumstances of the seizure, as soon as the operation concludes."
