Allegations of Third-Party Payment for Mountain Cabin Renovation According to police findings, former Governor Kim is suspected of having Yoon Doo-young, president of the Chungbuk Volleyball Association, pay 20 million won for interior work on his mountain cabin located in Cheongcheon-myeon, Goesan-gun, in August 2024. Police concluded that this third-party payment was compensation for granting favors to a food company operated by Yoon when it participated in a Chungbuk Province smart farm project.
Received 11 Million Won from Sports Figures Ahead of Overseas Business Trips Additionally, former Governor Kim faces further allegations of receiving a total of 11 million won on two separate occasions in April and June of last year under the pretext of travel expenses from three sports figures ahead of overseas business trips. The individuals who provided the money were Yoon Doo-young, president of the Chungbuk Volleyball Association; Yoon Hyun-woo, president of the Chungbuk Sports Council; and Lee Jae-soo, president of the Chungbuk Roller Sports Federation.
Denies All Allegations… Multiple Individuals Referred Without Detention Accordingly, police referred former Governor Kim to the prosecution without detention on charges of bribery and violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act. Yoon Doo-young was charged with bribery, interior contractor B with evidence tampering, and the three sports figures with violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act. All were referred to the prosecution without detention.
Meanwhile, former Governor Kim has reportedly denied all allegations from the early stages of the investigation, maintaining that he never received any money or valuables.
