Hanjin will carry out a long-distance logistics operation spanning 17,500 km to transport emergency relief supplies for victims of the massive earthquake in Venezuela.

Under the 'Emergency Relief Supply Transport Project for Venezuela Earthquake Victims' organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Hanjin has been selected as the logistics executing agency for the Korean government's emergency support project. Through this project, Hanjin will carry out the mission of swiftly and safely delivering 500 relief family tents to those who lost their homes in the earthquake that struck Venezuela this past June.

The journey for transporting these relief supplies begins at Incheon International Airport. After undergoing repackaging for air transport, the supplies will travel by air via Canada and Bogota, Colombia. They will then be transported overland by vehicle to the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.

The total transport distance amounts to approximately 17,500 km. Notably, the 1,800 km stretch from Colombia to Venezuela will be conducted as an overland transport crossing the border, with close cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the local embassy during this process.

To effectively transport a large volume of relief supplies in a short period, Hanjin has secured emergency flights through negotiations with airlines and plans to distribute the cargo across multiple shipments.

A Hanjin official stated, "We take it as meaningful that we are able to participate in national support efforts based on our global logistics capabilities," adding, "We will do our utmost throughout the entire transportation process to ensure that the relief supplies arrive quickly and safely to the people of Venezuela."

Meanwhile, Hanjin previously demonstrated its humanitarian logistics support capabilities by transporting relief supplies for the Myanmar earthquake in May of last year, contributing to the support of local disaster victims.
