The LG Twins broke free from a three-game losing streak.

On the 11th, LG secured an 8-3 victory over the Kiwoom Heroes in a 2026 KBO League regular season game held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. With this win, LG closed the gap with second-place Samsung to 3.5 games.

Carrasco Earns First KBO Win... 6 Innings, 2 Earned Runs in Strong Outing

Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco proved he has fully adapted to the KBO League. The right-hander, who has 112 career Major League wins, picked up his first KBO win by allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and 2 runs while striking out 5 over 6 innings.

Following up on his 7-inning perfect pitching performance against Doosan on the 1st, Carrasco continued his perfect game bid through the 3rd inning in this game. The perfect game was broken up in the 4th inning by an infield single from Seo Geon-chang, and he gave up the tying run in the 5th, but he completed his assignment without further trouble.

He recorded a top velocity of 150 km/h and effectively silenced the Kiwoom lineup by utilizing a variety of pitches, including a cutter, two-seamer, curveball, slider, and forkball. He retired the Kiwoom lineup in order through the first three innings and worked out of trouble after Seo Geon-chang's infield single in the 4th by inducing a double play from Choo Jae-hyun and striking out Matt Davidson.

In the top of the 1st, LG put runners on base after Park Hae-min was hit by a pitch, followed by a walk to Austin and a wild pitch by opposing starter An Woo-jin, creating an opportunity with one out and runners on second and third. They scored the first run on Moon Bo-kyung's groundout to shortstop and extended the lead to 2-0 on Moon Jeong-bin's RBI single to left. In the top of the 2nd, they created a chance with two outs and runners on second and third via a walk to Oh Ji-hwan and a single to left by Kwon Hyuk, but failed to add to their tally.

After Carrasco surrendered the tying run in the 5th, the LG lineup struck again in the top of the 6th. Song Chan-ui pulled a 146 km/h fastball from Kiwoom's Jeong Hyeon-woo for a 120-meter solo home run over the left-field wall, giving LG a 3-2 lead. This was Song's first career double-digit home run season and proved to be the game-winning hit. With two outs and runners on first and second, set up by Park Dong-won's single to left and a walk to Kwon Hyuk, Hong Chang-ki added an RBI double to right, extending the lead to 4-2.

Kim Jin-seong Achieves All-Time Record 178 Holds

Veteran Kim Jin-seong, who took the mound in the bottom of the 7th, retired Kim Geon-hui on a foul fly to the catcher and struck out Lim Byung-wook. However, he gave up a solo home run over the left-field wall to Park Chan-hyuk on a 129 km/h slider, cutting the deficit to 4-3. Nevertheless, Kim achieved his 178th career hold in this game, setting a new all-time KBO League record.

Oh Ji-hwan Reaches 2,900 Total Bases + Three-Run Homer Caps It Off

In the top of the 8th, LG pulled away to 5-3 on Oh Ji-hwan's double to center, Park Dong-won's sacrifice bunt, and a wild pitch by Won Jong-hyun. In the top of the 9th, Oh Ji-hwan hammered a 125-meter three-run home run over the right-field wall off Jeong Da-hoon's 149 km/h fastball to put the game out of reach.

Oh Ji-hwan led the team to victory with 2 hits (1 home run), 1 walk, and 3 RBIs on the day, while also reaching the milestone of 2,900 career total bases. Closer Son Ju-yeong then closed the door with a scoreless bottom of the 9th to end the game.

Moon Jeong-bin (1 hit, 1 RBI) and Hong Chang-ki (1 hit, 1 RBI) each added RBIs with runners in scoring position, while Moon Bo-kyung reached base three times with 1 hit, 2 walks, and 1 RBI.
