NC (NC, 036570) demonstrated its resilience in the global market by posting strong earnings for the second quarter of this year. According to the consolidated Q2 earnings disclosed on the 11th, the company achieved revenue of KRW 770.5 billion, operating profit of KRW 173.9 billion, and net profit of KRW 131.2 billion. Compared to the same period last year, revenue and operating profit surged by 101% and 1,053%, respectively, with an operating margin of 23%.
This remarkable performance was driven by the company's push into the global market and the success of its core IPs. In particular, the overseas revenue share in Q2 reached 52%, surpassing the domestic share (48%) for the first time. Overseas revenue, encompassing Asia (25%) and North America and Europe (27%), maintained its upward trend for the fourth consecutive quarter, showcasing steady growth.
By segment, the strong performance of the PC games and mobile casual businesses stood out. The PC games division recorded revenue of KRW 343.8 billion, setting a new all-time quarterly high following the first quarter. Notably, 'Lineage Classic' led the success with revenue of KRW 185.5 billion, surpassing a cumulative KRW 269.1 billion in just 140 days since its launch. 'Lineage Remaster' also grew 18% compared to the previous quarter, proving the competitiveness of the core IP, while 'Aion 2' maintained stable performance with KRW 71.9 billion in revenue.
The mobile casual business, which has established itself as one of the company's three growth pillars, accounted for 22% of total revenue, securing a foundation for mid- to long-term growth. In particular, with the global mobile gaming platform 'JustPlay' being consolidated for the first time this quarter, mobile casual revenue reached KRW 169.7 billion.
Total revenue from existing mobile games was also tallied at KRW 185.3 billion. Despite intensifying competition within the mobile games market, 'Lineage M' maintained robust performance, growing 4% compared to the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, NC plans to step up its push into the global market by participating in 'Gamescom 2026,' a global game show to be held in Cologne, Germany, on the 26th. At the event, the company intends to extensively unveil its lineup of new global titles, including 'Aion 2,' 'Cinder City,' and 'Project Bonfire.'
