Pearl Abyss recorded a consolidated operating profit of 67.6 billion won and revenue of 192.6 billion won in the second quarter of 2024. Compared to the same period last year, operating profit surged by 7,411.1% and revenue by 247.7%, respectively.
The key driver behind this explosive growth is the global success of the open-world action-adventure game 'Crimson Desert.' Overseas revenue accounted for 91% of total Q2 revenue, with North America and Europe making up 75% of the total, driving overseas performance. By IP, Crimson Desert recorded 136.1 billion won and Black Desert 55 billion won in revenue.
Since its launch, Crimson Desert has continuously provided new gameplay experiences through ongoing updates that reflect user feedback. Going forward, the company plans to further enhance the IP's value by strengthening the storyline and adding new content.
Various strategies are also being pursued for long-term performance. The company is reviewing the quality of DLC (Downloadable Content) with a goal of releasing it within the year, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is focusing on performance optimization targeting a release in the first half of 2027. A package discount strategy is also being prepared in parallel.
Black Desert PC successfully hosted the '2026 Black Desert Heidel Banquet' in the United States to mark the 10th anniversary of its service in North America and Europe. At the event, a new class 'Agent,' the 'Edania Part 2' region expansion, and graphics technology updates were unveiled. Black Desert Mobile and Console are also maintaining stable live services through consistent content updates.
Pearl Abyss plans to further expand its engagement with global users in the second half of the year through the release of new content and service improvements.
