TV CHOSUN's variety show "What Did the King Eat?" will air its 6th episode on the 12th at 10 PM. This episode will focus for the first time on the tragic dining table of Joseon's boy king, Danjong.

Mountaineer Um Hong-gil, a descendant of Eom Heung-do of Yeongwol, who retrieved Danjong's body, will make a special appearance and join Danjong's table. Um revealed that he is the 28th-generation descendant of the Yeongwol Eom clan and shared that he rushed down from the mountains to participate in the filming. He also mentioned his experience of recovering the body of the late team member Park Moo-taek on Mount Everest, drawing a parallel with his ancestor Eom Heung-do. In response, Choi Tae-sung acknowledged Um Hong-gil's loyalty and the tradition of the Yeongwol Eom clan, remarking, "Blood doesn't lie."

Royal Banquet Seized by Grand Prince Suyang, Recreated

In the broadcast, the royal banquet that Grand Prince Suyang demanded and seized from Danjong after the Coup of 1453 is recreated. Grand Prince Suyang demanded the nameplate, a symbol of royal authority, along with court cuisine, eventually taking over Danjong's table entirely. Cast member Yang Sang-guk remarked, "It must have been the worst day for Danjong," approaching the food while imagining the young king's feelings of losing both power and his meals.

However, when the actual royal banquet was presented, Yang Sang-guk, Shin Gyu-ri, Ji Ye-eun, and Um Hong-gil could not hide their surprise at the lavish spread. Shin Gyu-ri exclaimed, "This is the most bountiful table we've had so far," while Um Hong-gil gave an honest reaction: "Danjong must have shed tears of blood. Still, I have to eat what I can."

Um Hong-gil said, "It's so refreshing. It goes down smoothly," as he emptied two bowls, prompting Shin Gyu-ri to praise his eating skills, saying, "Sir, are you Tzuyang? You eat so well." Yang Sang-guk also shared his thoughts, saying, "I ate in the role of a loyal subject forcing myself to eat, but I was happy because it was so delicious."
