BLACKPINK, who returned as a full group after a wait of more than three years, has carved out another impressive record in the K-pop album market with their third mini album 'DEADLINE'.
According to Hanteo Chart's 'Hanteo Rewind 2026 First-Half Year-End Report,' 'DEADLINE' recorded cumulative sales of 1,804,472 copies in the first half of this year, ranking seventh in the tally. Even amid a top tier dominated by boy groups with powerful fandoms such as BTS, ATEEZ, KATSEYE, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, BLACKPINK proudly made the list of million-sellers among the top 14 acts, demonstrating their unparalleled album-selling power.
Notably, this full-group release, which came out on February 27, sold 1,461,785 copies on its first day alone, setting a new record for the highest single-day sales in K-pop girl group history. The explosive firepower on the day of their comeback continued as steady sales, quickly cementing the album's million-seller status.
The scale of 1.8 million copies becomes even more tangible when converted into physical height. Stacking 1,804,472 copies vertically based on the album's thickness (about 105mm) would reach approximately 189.5 km, far surpassing the Karman line (altitude of 100 km), the boundary between the atmosphere and space. This achievement, so overwhelming that it can be compared to physical limits, clearly demonstrates the fandom's thirst for the full-group BLACKPINK and their unwavering influence.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is competing in the Best Group category at the Netizens' Awards in August. As of 6 p.m. on the 19th, they are ranked 12th in the Best Group category with 47 votes.
