Actor Seo Do-young, playing father Cha Seung-hyun who loses his son in MBC's new daily drama 'Family Relationship Certificate,' has moved viewers and on-set staff alike with his deep emotional performance.

In a recent episode of 'Family Relationship Certificate' (planned by Namgoong Sung-woo and Jang Jae-hoon; directed by Kim Mi-sook; written by Park Ji-hyun; produced by MBC C&I and Void), Cha Seung-hyun (played by Seo Do-young) and his family were depicted grieving together after the loss of his son Cha Oreum (played by Jang Yi-jun).

In the drama, Cha Seung-hyun, while sinking into a sense of loss alongside his wife Dang Ok-mai (played by Jung So-young), still put his family first. In particular, in a scene where he sees the bicycle his son used to ride, he is unable to control his emotions upon seeing a vision of his son and breaks down wailing. In that scene, his mother Noh Young-joo (played by Im Ji-eun) embraces her son and sheds tears with him, while Cha Seung-hyun pours out his grief like a young child in his mother's arms.

Seo Do-young conveyed with authenticity the collapse of paternal love, the pain of being the family breadwinner, and the despair of losing a child. It was reported that even during filming, staff members held their breath as they watched, immersed in the emotion. Evaluations from the set included, "The explosive emotional arc had even the staff holding their breath and crying along."

Meanwhile, 'Family Relationship Certificate' stars a number of accomplished actors including Seo Do-young, Park Se-young, Han Go-eun, Im Ji-eun, Sung Yi-eon, Park Solla, and Jeon Seung-bin, and airs on weekdays at 7:05 p.m.
