The KBS 2TV weekend drama "Love Is On Its Way" is drawing viewers' attention with its portrayal of multifaceted mother-daughter relationships.

In the recently aired episodes 9 and 10, the complex emotions and conflicts unfolding between Ko Yoon-hee (played by Yoon Yoo-sun), her biological daughter Han Gyu-rim (played by Ahn Hee-yeon), and her stepdaughter Jang Seo-hyun (played by Lee Ju-yeon) took center stage.

■ An estranged biological daughter, a deeply trusted stepdaughter

Ko Yoon-hee and her biological daughter Han Gyu-rim have long been out of contact, with only wounds left between them. Han Gyu-rim sacrificed for her family at her mother's request, but cut off contact seven years ago after her plea for help was rejected.

In contrast, Ko Yoon-hee and her stepdaughter Jang Seo-hyun maintain an ideal mother-daughter relationship built on deep trust despite being a blended family. Jang Seo-hyun remembers Ko Yoon-hee's wedding anniversary, and the two show careful consideration for each other in daily life.

■ The beginning of conflict over Kim Mu-jin

However, as Ko Yoon-hee begins to suspect that Kim Mu-jin's (played by Ha Seok-jin) past lover may be Han Gyu-rim, unease starts to seep into her relationship with Jang Seo-hyun as well.

Jang Seo-hyun was delighted by the confession of Kim Mu-jin, her long-time crush, but faced her mother's opposition. Ko Yoon-hee opposed Kim Mu-jin out of a desire to protect both daughters.

Ko Yoon-hee believed that Kim Mu-jin confessed to Jang Seo-hyun out of guilt and hoped her stepdaughter would not be hurt. She also expressed regret over Han Gyu-rim, who had suffered from a past misunderstanding as a "gold digger."

In particular, when Hong Ok-sun (played by Jin Kyung) called Han Gyu-rim a "gold digger," Ko Yoon-hee retorted, "Did you see her doing gold-digger things, Madam Chairman?" revealing her maternal love.
