The Korea Music Performance Industry Association (Chairman Ko Ki-ho, hereinafter "the Association") conducted an offline campaign to eradicate ticket scalping at the concert commemorating Big Bang's 20th debut anniversary. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of chart manipulation and ticket scalping issues ahead of the revision of the Performance Act and to spread healthy music consumption culture.

As part of the "2026 Chart Manipulation and Ticket Scalping Eradication Monitoring and Campaign" project, jointly organized with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Association held the campaign from the 21st to the 23rd at Goyang Sports Complex.

[850 Audience Members Experience "Scalping OUT"]

Various experiential events were held on-site, including O/X quizzes about scalping, dart games, "A Word to Scalpers," and a photo zone. About 850 domestic and international audience members participated, gaining a firsthand sense of the importance of eradicating scalping.

Separately from booth operations, the Association patrolled the areas around the venue to directly inspect for scalping transactions. Identity verification procedures were applied when tickets were handed over, and scalpers and transactions caught on-site were handed over to Goyang Police Station.

[Performance Act Takes Effect on August 28… Fines of Up to 50 Times Introduced]

The Performance Act and the National Sports Promotion Act, which take effect on August 28, both prohibit system circumvention and interference as well as habitual or commercial scalping. Accordingly, fines of up to 50 times the amount involved and a reward system for reporting illegal transactions will be introduced.

Participant A (28) said, "I hope more anti-scalping campaigns like this will be held at more concert venues," adding, "I believe judicial enforcement authority is needed beyond just the police."

Chairman Ko Ki-ho said, "Creating an environment where fans can enjoy performances through legitimate means is most important," adding, "We are considering ways to communicate with audiences, such as expanding the campaign to various performances, fair ticket purchasing, and scalping reporting methods, for the sound development of the performance industry."

The Association plans to expand field-centered activities in cooperation with the government, related agencies, and member companies.
