In the August Netizens' Awards voting for the Best Educational Program category, TV Chosun's 'Trot All-Star Match Wednesday Night' defended the top spot, extending its winning streak to 16 consecutive months.
In the month-long voting race, 'Trot All-Star Match Wednesday Night' secured a total of 24,000 votes, holding onto first place with a 34.0% share. Although its share slipped from the 41.1% recorded in July, the program maintained solid support in the mid-30% range, continuing its unchallenged lead in the educational category.
■ Upper Rankings Shaken by New Program Challenge
The top ranks saw fierce ranking battles with the entry of a new popular program. MBN's 'The Man Who Became King,' newly entering in August, gathered 17,429 votes for a high 24.7% vote share, soaring to second place in one stroke.
Third place went to MBC Standard FM's 'Son Tae-jin's Trot Radio' with 11,422 votes (16.2%). MBC ON's 'Trot Champion' received 10,528 votes (14.9%) to rank fourth, completing a competitive structure in which all top four programs recorded double-digit shares.
■ Mid and Lower Rankings See Tight Contest Among Established Programs
In the middle ranks, a tight contest of voter sentiment continued among programs already favored by viewers. KBS2's 'Two Beats One Bar' secured 1,192 votes (1.7%), moving from fifth place in July to sixth, while KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' settled in seventh with 1,080 votes (1.5%).
