In the August Netizen Awards Hall of Fame 'Immortal Chairman' category, Samsung founding chairman Lee Byung-chull, known as Hoam, firmly held onto the top spot.

Chairman Lee Byung-chull ranked first this month with a total of 547 votes, a 43.7% share. With a stable approval rating exceeding 40%, he continued to receive high marks as a business leader who laid the foundation of the Korean economy. Since the 'Immortal Chairman' category was established in February, Chairman Lee has never lost the lead, maintaining the top position for seven consecutive months through August this year.

In the upper tier following the leader, a close battle unfolded for second place between Hyundai founding chairman Chung Ju-yung, known as Asan, and Yuhan Corporation founder Woo Il-han. Chairman Chung Ju-yung took second place with 285 votes (22.8%), while founder Woo Il-han secured 256 votes (20.4%), landing in third by a narrow margin. Cheongam Park Tae-joon, honorary chairman of POSCO, followed in fourth place with 110 votes (8.8%), forming the top-tier competitive landscape.

In the middle and lower rankings, precious votes were also tallied for founders and honorary chairmen representing the Korean business world. Lotte Group Chairman-in-chief Shin Kyuk-ho took fifth place with 27 votes (2.2%), and Hanwha Group founder Kim Jong-hee rose to sixth with 10 votes (0.8%). LG Group Chairman Koo Bon-moo recorded seventh place with 7 votes (0.6%), and SK Group Chairman Choi Jong-hyun came in eighth with 4 votes (0.3%). Finally, Doosan Group's first chairman Park Du-beom and Hanjin Group founder Cho Choong-hoon each garnered 3 votes, tying for ninth place with an equal vote share of 0.2%.
