KBS has appointed Rei, a member of the group IVE who hails from Nagoya, Japan, as the promotional fairy for its broadcast of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Under the slogan "The Moment We Become One Again, Asian Games on KBS," KBS will broadcast the Games for 16 days from the opening ceremony on September 19 to the closing ceremony on October 4. The South Korean national team will compete in the Games, and KBS plans to convey the on-site atmosphere with a diverse lineup of commentators.

In a recently released promotional video, Rei appears between red curtains and says, "They say Nagoya is a 'boring city'? I'll show you," heightening anticipation for the Asian Games. The video features scenes of host city Nagoya and members of the South Korean team preparing for the Games, along with the phrase "Nagoya, where our dreams will come true."

In the video, Rei meets in turn KBS's Asian Games commentators, including Lee Young-pyo (football), Park Yong-taek and Kim Tae-gyun (baseball), Kim Jun-ho (fencing), Ki Bo-bae (archery), Jang Soo-young and Ha Tae-kwon (badminton), Kim Yo-han and Han Yu-mi (volleyball), Jung Yu-in (swimming), and Lee Won-hee (judo), checking their records of winning medals at international competitions. She then concluded her role as promotional fairy by shouting, "As expected, KBS!"

Broadcaster Kang Nam will serve as a commentator for the opening ceremony, while music director Kim Moon-jung and KBS announcer Lee Jae-hu will handle the live on-site broadcast. The South Korean team will begin its full competition schedule with the men's basketball qualifiers starting on September 10.
